Have you decided that you want to write a novel? Most people who say that never finish. Would you like to be one of the few to really be true to your word?

First you need a good idea for your novel. This is called a plot, which is basically your storyline. Be creative! You can write about whatever you desire to! Regardless of the type of plot you have, there should always be some type of conflict for the main character. The end of the novel should provide the resolution of the problem. Writing my novel, day 5

Nothing got written yesterday and today hasn’t been much better (a few hundred words).

I need to get my act together and make writing part of my daily routine. It’s said that it takes around a fortnight until something becomes habit. Maybe longer if you’re a “natural” procrastinator as I seem to be.

But I intend to get there, even if 28 days is a bit optimistic for me!

Writing my novel, day 3

OK, I’ve spent about an hour writing today. Word count is just under 2,500 and the characters have introduced themselves to each other.

My typing speed is nowhere near fast enough – will need to either speed up, take longer or delve through my CD collection and see if I can find where I’ve put my copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking that I didn’t get round to installing when I changed PC.

I’m going to skip the progress upload today but hopefully will be back on track tomorrow.
