Most people like reading books and there are thousands of books on every topic out there. Like reading a book, writing a book also does not require any outstanding skills. Neither should you belong to William Shakespeare’s family. There are some interesting and good ideas for writing a book.

If you look at the history of some authors, some novelists went to university to study literature while others never planned to be a writer. It just happens. So if you feel like you have to write, then just put the pen to paper and your hands will just start writing. This will happen if you feel very strongly about writing your experiences or learning in life.

Writing about everyday life, experiences and incidents is a great way to begin. But if you like stories, then you could write a romantic, thriller, fiction or even fairy tale novels. Apart from these you also have subjects studied in school and university, if you are interested.

Some people convert their hobbies into books. There are many cooking, gardening, quilting and many such hobby or past time books around. If you are a professional or an expert in a field, you could write about it. You could write about your childhood or your past.

You could even write about people, personalities, and unusual situations and uncommon things. If there is information or fact that you would like to share with others, then publishing a book is a way to do it. Your writing could inspire others to do or not do something and this could be anything from family to fantasies.

The best way to decide if it’s a good idea or not is to ask yourself a question – would you read it if it was offered to you? If the answer is no, then probably even others will not acknowledge it, so you know the answer. So, the ideas for writing a book come from within, listen to your heart.
