The synposis of the novel is supposed to be the most important part.
So I’ve spent some time crafting my synopsis.
I’ve decided that mine will be a science fiction novel. Set on some desolate planet somewhere in the universe.
The planet is deserted – not because there are no other occupied planets, just because that’s the type of planet we’re exploring.
And of course, there are “baddies” lurking just below the surface.
Summarised as follows:
“On a distant, empty, planet ghosts from a past civilization turn into real creatures that start killing the small group of researchers exploring the planet. The hyperport system is broken and the telecoms are down. Danny – the outpost’s computer fixer/programmer and resident nerd – must track down what’s happening and save the crew.”
The main character will be Danny.An introvert nerd who fixes anything computer related on the base.
There will be a handful of support characters as well. The synopsis may change as I develop my chapter headings, but it’s a good start as far as I’m concerned.
I’ll get onto the chapter headings tomorrow but I’ve started writing the first few pages of my novel – scene setting. I’ve not timed myself for this section as I’ve also been working on the plot and the other characters (or at least their names).
